WHY US
Freedom is Good for People and the Planet
For too long the climate debate has been dominated by top-down, command and control policies that are ineffective and harmful to people and the planet. But documenting the flaws of policies like the Green New Deal is not enough.
Advancing good climate policy based on the principles of economic freedom, which celebrate bottom-up innovators and solutions, is critical.
The science is clear. Free economies are clean economies. Durable climate solutions require political climate change. Economic and political freedom are the answer, which requires reasserting the American constitutional order.

ECONOMIC FREEDOM
Dictatorships are dirty. Democracies are clean. Free economies are twice as clean as less free economies. Less government, lower taxes, and limited regulations are good for our natural and economic environment.
ENERGY INNOVATION
The clean energy solutions of tomorrow will come from labs not legislatures. Basic research spending on next generation technology can be helpful if it is offset by other spending cuts, does not pick winners and losers, and does not displace private capital.
ENERGY ABUNDANCE
Energy security is a byproduct of energy abundance. Energy diversification and an “all of the above” energy strategy will make the world a cleaner and safer place, as will reducing dependence on dictators and regimes that are more interested in protecting their power than the planet.
NATURAL SOLUTIONS
Federal policymakers should look to the states and local communities for inspiration and instruction. Bottom-up natural solutions in areas like agriculture and forestry are far more effective than top-down edicts.
