Press Release: C3 Action Congratulates Rep. John Curtis for Primary Victory in Utah
(FALLS CHURCH, VA) – C3 Action released the following statement today congratulating Rep. John Curtis for his primary election victory this week in Utah. Curtis won a contested primary with 51 percent of the vote, 20 points more than his closet rival.
“John Curtis will bring to the Senate not just moral courage and clarity, but moral imagination. He’s a rare leader who will challenge and inspire his colleagues to not just critique a broken and dysfunctional status quo but to dream of, and shape, a world that could be. Voters in Utah, and the rest of the country, will benefit greatly from his leadership,” said C3 Action Executive Director John Hart.
“Few areas in American politics are more perilous, vexing, and consequential than climate and energy policy,” Hart continued. “Curtis, like Reagan, has offered a positive and substantive agenda that is transforming the debate. And like Reagan, he’s been successful because he doesn’t care who gets the credit. He’s wisely nurtured and collaborated with the 80-plus strong Conservative Climate Caucus in the House and a growing ecosystem of organizations committed to making the case that economic freedom is the foundation of good climate and energy policy.
“Taking on tough issues with principled leadership and winning gives this movement important momentum for the future,” Hart said.
The Conservative Coalition for Climate Solutions Action or “C3 Action” is committed to advancing climate and energy solutions rooted in economic freedom. C3 Action’s sister organization, C3 Solutions, published The Climate and Freedom Agenda which details policy and regulatory reforms that would help increase and diversify energy supplies, remove supply chain constraints, invest in healthy ecosystems, and build more resilient communities.
